“Chace is one of those extraordinary musicians you encounter only once every few years. For such a young person to compose, write and even sing on all of his records like he does is just mind-blowing. He reminds us of both Disclosure and The Weeknd. This kid from China is heading for flashing lights and stadium status, you’ll see.” – Yellow Claw
It’s no exaggeration to declare 18-year-old producer, singer and songwriter Chace something of a dance music prodigy. In earlier days, being from Shanghai would probably have been an obstacle of some kind for a young artist trying to come up in electronic music. Nowadays, no genre of music is as global as dance music, and the fact that a kid from China can break through on the level that Chace has, speaks volumes.
With his academic production knowledge and internationally-sized ambitions, Chace landed a debut release on Yellow Claw’s Barong Family label in the summer of 2016. His 4-track Destination EP showcased an extraordinary level of artistic maturity, from Chace’s melancholic, muted vocals to the overall depth and liveliness of his arrangements and production.
Following the EP’s release, Chace became the first Chinese DJ to perform at Tomorrowland and kept his release schedule going with ‘For a Day’, a very catchy song (and cool video) in collaboration with Dutch duo Moksi that got great support from Zane Lowe at Apple Music’s Beats 1 radio.
Following these, Chase has played at huge events in Beijing and Shanghai, including Storm festival, Yellow Claw’s Barong Family World Tour and opening for David Guetta at two shows. He has also been signed by Ace Agency and has readied his new Definition EP to soundtrack the 2017 spring festival season.
