if you want to dirty south.. it doesnt get much southern or dirty then paraguay..(unless your in like antarctica) .. but its a place that I cant stop daydreamin or talking about when im in brazil…. but there in br, its like talking about el guapo or valdamort… you just dont say the word.. it will frighten a veteran trafficant… (imma speak more on paraguay later)
also .. This cumbia isnt from paraguay or northeast argentina and its probably more likely from just boring old columbia… (since my homeboys from buenos aires – (zizek gangsters) gave it to me) but he was talking about crazy street kids sniffing glue and trippin to screwed cumbia.. and this track was slowed down by someone and turns out pretty scary, not pretty but this exists for some reason… im tellin you imma have more on cumbia later this year cause you just can’t sleep on it, its a takeover down below. mad street riot pan flute dvds and everything.. that cumbia is a classic colombia cumbia but… “rebajada” (pitched down) by kind of a ghost producer from Monterrey, mexico, called Marquillos Colombia.
Rebajada is a style from monterrey, wich basically is pitch down classic cumbia colombiana songs.
theres a whole dance scene of this style wich oops! also famous in your country because of dozens of millions of mexicans.
this basic way of remixing is growing and growing all over latin america, so fortunatelly we have the cumbia roots bass again!

it is interesting to see how different kinds of music/production techniques are intersecting–on some centerless web shit. that said, i don’t know much about cumbia, but i always like hearing it. most of the stuff i’m exposed to is in the form of cumbia/hip-hop blends that local radio djs play on friday and saturday night mix shows. the blends are always dope, even if listening to them makes me feel a bit ashamed of myself for only engaging cumbia in the form of a blend instead of in its original context.

This is a pretty badass cumbia rebajada. I’ve been listening to cumbia since I was a child, like 7. The first time I heard cumbia rebajada, was in S.L.P., MX by a group called Sonido Kiss or Kiss Sound. They’re some badass mixers of cumbia. Then it started coming up here in Houston,TX with these late night radio guys called Chopaholics and they started turning out cumbia rebajada mixes along with contempory rap music. Like 50 cent rapping over the music of Celso Pena. I don’t like that so much, but many people do like it.
