  2. wow, a minimal mix, what a huge feat. Am i supposed to be impressed becuase its a girl dj or by the depth and deep layers of mixing? How about neither, and btw that shit sounds like it was made on ableton, wack.

  3. aw shminimal… feel better? anonymously hating usually does make one feel all warm and shallow inside. where’s your awesome technology-free mix? doosh baguette.

    Comment by etan — March 1, 2008 @ 9:24 am

  4. technology free? how about talent free. i was just guessing that it was made on ableton, thanks for supporting that theory. you can just tell there is no humanity or warmth in mixes made that way. I mean, why bother cutting and pasting tracks together? I learned to use scissors and paste in pre-school, and technology may add to music and djing, but when you are mixing shit so painfully simple, why go that route unless you absolutely need to because of a lack of skill. And let me guess, these are people you roll with, and you are an ableton dj as well right? Get at me when you decide to put your big boy pants on and leave the playgroud, slacker.

  10. Hey shminimal - Well gosh…these are really well-educated comments. Since you were so displeased with Volvox + Die Young’s mix, I’m sure you could make an original minimal mix that completely blows Diplo, Basstown, and all the blogosphere away, right? I can’t wait to hear your original minimal mix: please send it to info@basstown.net - we’ll be sure to blog and critique it (fairly) as well. Our one condition: you can’t use Abelton.

  18. a face-melter? a minimal face melter? heh. boston breaks, elements, anything at goodlife, there is a reason the techno mafia wants nothing to do with yall, and its because of a lack of talent. this is obvious, hipster jams and blue hair dont have staying power, neither does ableton mixes.

  26. if you saw what goes on on etan’s monitor when he’s “Djing”, it would rock you into a whole new dimension of what it means to be an electronic performer.
who the hell are the techno mafia? are those the guys that spin on weeknights at phoenix landing (formerly at lansdowne haunts) vigorously twisting knobs on their over-expensive mixers to absolutely no effect? the ones who limit their entire sets to songs released in the last 2 weeks so as to keep the crowd as bored as possible? the ones who care more about their own testosteronal dickrush than pleasing the crowd and bigging up fresh talent and sounds?
    yea, i’ll pass.

  27. I was directed to this amazingly hilarious thread and I have to say…… WOW. Pat, how’s that joke go that we use to say in Satellite? Q: How many DJ’s does it take to screw in a light bulb? A: All of them. One to screw in the light bulb and the rest of them to talk shit about how they could do it better>…… Does it matter if it’s an ableton mix? If you would like to hear a couple studio mixes of mine, you can visit: www.bostonbreaks.com
If you would like to talk shit about them, I will gladly show you how to do it live as well. shminimal, you should wake up and realize the world your living in…… the robots are taking over!

Comment by Broader Than Broadway Soundsystem — March 3, 2008 @ 7:56 pm

  30. Shminimal, sorry your sad little ego is bruised and that you feel it necessary to attack someone without warrant.

Obviously not everyone can grasp the genius of your playlists, I’m sure there is someone out there who’d invite you to play Berlin or Paris right?

There’s got to be a reason all 25 of those people still stand around the edge of the dancefloor or run out for a cigarette whenever you spin!

Get your head out of the toilet that is 1992, and your lips off of the ass of Phoenix Landing.

    Comment by Massengill Master — March 3, 2008 @ 9:02 pm

  31. whoa, 26 posts since i last checked in haha.
i agree with mr.fontes “lay off and listen”.
i may not be a boston native but its definitely become my home, i haven’t met one producer/dj in boston that doesnt have something to offer to the global community, let alone the local scene. i think we are lucky to be here. helping each other out is the only way we are gonna put boston up there with nyc and montreal, although it already is in our eyes, we need the rest of the world to know we are not a city to be skipped over on the next tour (which happens A LOT rite now) and blog posts like this are gonna get boston that recognition whether it’s hearthrobbers, bassic peoples, thunderdomers, phoenix landing dudes, soul clappers, or whoever else is putting on the fresh parties. much respect to all the positive commentors, a lot of you are people who make up the strongest of boston’s talent and i look forward to partying with you all and looking over your shoulders to see what your playing soon. thanks again paul devro and diplo for puttin this mix up!!!

    Comment by etan — March 3, 2008 @ 9:19 pm

  32. this is funny I was just brought to this. I dont see why people are hating. I’ve never understood why people find it necessary to go out of their way to hate on shit, especially on the internet. if you wouldnt walk directly up to someone and say something why say it on the internet? just because minimal isnt your thing doesnt make it bad, also because someone uses ableton to make a mix so what? I think some people just have too much time on their hands. So I’ll echo…when you post some tunes or a mix then we can all compare until then STFU. Boston FTW.

  35. Hey Pat, thanks for the kind words. It’s true, Shminimal, like Red Foxx says…we don’t have beef with one another. Soul Clap, Bump, ex-Landsdowne people, RISE folks, etc…some of us have just met, and some have known each other for years. For all intents and purposes, we are all friends or friendly acquaintances. As the promoter for Basstown, I can come right out and speak for all five of us and say that we all really appreciate and respect what everyone does, and there’s no sense of competition of who’s better than the other, especially on our end. We’re here to party, and introduce all kinds of crowds to all kinds of electronic music. You…on the other hand, are an anonymous coward lurking on a message board. That’s just me speaking for myself. Since you’re never going to make that minimal mix, I hope that at least when you come out to party you’re a much nicer and less egotistical person. Over and out.

Vicki, nice challenge, you actually looking for mixes?

    Comment by Kay Ey — March 4, 2008 @ 5:27 pm

  41. Who ever said we can’t mix for shit? Just to clarify (and I hate to do this to validate all this discussion) but I mix, live, off tables every time I play out and have ever since I started DJing. So does Ari and she’s amazing. Ableton is very flexible, allows me to micromanage the mix and have it be a pleasant listening experience you will want to hear a few times. Mixes off decks can have issues from levels to EQing that I rather avoid since I don’t live in a studio. So come to a Basstown or a Make it New and SEE US DO IT LIVE CAUSE WE CAN AND WE WILL. So silly all this cause of one audio program that WE ALL use. However, thank you Diplo for getting this mix up here, I hope some people enjoyed this mix because I definitely loved making it. Even on Ableton. Lulz.

Now that is a blind comment from a hater. One thing I have to say is at least those guys beat match when they dj. Hearing a train wreck everytime you change tracks is painful. Please learn how to dj before playing in public.

  46. heh. funny. basstown tears up pat fontes and boston breaks behind their back, wont set foot in nights like paper because they are jealous and cant get 600 kids together if they paid them, yet online everyone is all friends, right? wrong. shit talkers like david day live for forum discussions like this, theere is a reason he moves from clique to clique and cant keep friends long, he shit talks, everyone! hearthrob djs trainwreck every time they play! throw a party with 90 kids every other week and basstown worships them, its all pop tarts, microwave meals, flash in the pan, no one will give a fuck about them in a couple of years, just like no one did a couple of years ago. I get twice that many people out on a weekly basis, and they actually know which songs are being played by what dj! its not about wearing the clothing and acting the part. Im glad i have been in the boston scene as long as I have to see people like this come and go. Catch me at phoenix landing one night, i will be the one playing like i paid my dues and giving hipsters the cold shoulder because i know im better, and me and my boys have the staying power, even if some of them stepped up in this forum and took the easy street. and yeah im posting anon, its a good way to get my point across but not have to deal with you whiny bitches in person (david day,how min doing with all our talent?).

  57. srsly. retarded.

shminimal at least you have a sense of humor and can write well. david shame on you for using your response as a promotional plug and not justifying your dedication to the craft. i think that long-time lovers of dance music will have a deeper understanding (and possibly more open minds) than those of you who found MNML last year or never realized that JDhalback and Marco Carola used to make (deep) house records before they found techno. This community thrives on community and I do agree that the mnml-loving hipster emo-lectro set are dumbing down the playing field. There is a reason that djs dont get paid in the states - it’s because djing is a farce in the states.. with so many people making ableton mashups this is no longer an artform. This is instant gratification for people who can’t find their own art. And this discussion board is for people who can’t find their own voice. David I give you respect for the name and the philosophy behind Make It New — now just make that happen.

I personally only know a few of you on here and truly do feel like everyone is doing positive things for music in Boston. I think the funniest thing about this “schminimal” dude talking shit is that this thread caught the attention of so many of us. I don’t know if I have ever seen all of you in the same place at one time speaking. Even if your in your boxer shorts scratching your asses right now. ;-) ……… we need more of that. I am an aspiring alcoholic, and own way too many CDs for the year 2008. I also really really really like water. 64. Dedication to the craft? People speak so authoritatively about people in the public eye. If you’re going to drag David into this, figure out his true intentions and his lifestyle. He lives and breathes this shit. Is putting yourself into massive debt to create a pipedream movie (to be released later this year) dedicated to techno music enough for you? David has contributed significantly to this scene, but he’s not God and he is fallible. He can’t single-handedly make everyone happy. Do your thing, go listen to the music you like, throw the parties you want to throw, I’m sure you find them fun. But don’t start tossing the ad hominems and challenging a guy’s love for this music. That’s just ignant.

    FTW

    Comment by Jared David Danielson — March 5, 2008 @ 1:39 pm

  65. Shit… I actually didn’t write any of that someone was pretending to be me but it was funny haha.

Shminimal is Eric Gray who I don’t think I’ve met but here’s his Myspace: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=239754004

Very very pathetic. I’m really bummed that people from 808 would talk shit like this. I always was a fan of that party and Brian knows ever since I met him and I DJ’d Revolutions on WERS I have been a supporter of electronic music in this town.

Anyways Eric, really sad. You just made about 10 people who could have been your friends really have a very poor opinion about you as a person, myself included. Music and technology evolves, you evolve with it or you become obsolete. And by the way, I’ve been DJing for 10 years and going to raves since I was 14, so no need to get holier-than-thou with me. If you don’t believe me why not ask a techno legend, Bryan Zentz, who saw me grow up in VA in the late 90’s… from hanging out on the sidewalk in front of the club because I was too young to get in, to finally DJing that same night when I was 17. I mowed lawns to buy 1200s, did you? I paid my dues, I respect DJing, and you have no basis for you to tell me otherwise.

I hope one day you learn not to burn bridges like this. Ultimately I’m just shocked at how inane your comments are.

  78. I remember being 16 in the early 2000’s and going into Boston Beat or Satellite (though Satellite was 1000x better) and asking for Roule and Vulture records and getting a “Roo-lay who?” or a dirty look for not asking for the latest Hooj Choons 12″.
It’s hilarious to me that people like us, who have literally been into electro & house for years, are now being called “hipsters”, like we were in Velvet Underground-wannabe bands this time last year.
Fact is that for us & people like the Heartthrob guys and the Basstown cats, the international musical climate changed and welcomed our style. We’ve dreamed of this forever. It used to be you’d drop a French touch record and people would say your shit was annoying. Now Basstown can drop Stardust on New Year’s Eve and people are having religious experiences and shit. No insistance on having brand new records. No PMS on the dancefloor over a short mix. Didn’t we come to party?
Yea some dudes use ableton, other dudes are still using decks. It’s two different styles. Our Ableton sets can sometimes be running samples 5 at a time with tons of effects going. I’m not ashamed of that, I figured out beat matching years ago. Big deal. We’re trying to take our performance to a new level, not be lazy about it. If anything, I do much more work in my Ableton sets than I ever did on decks.
These are two very different types of people that inhabit either scene. Too bad people are so hung up on mediums. God bless the movement, fuck trainspotters.

  81. Hey guys, Richie Hawtin here. I have to end this once and for all.

Eric McLaughlin aka Schminimal is a famous DJ who gets booked all the time and he got into electronic music in 1999 when you hipsters were still in Velvet Underground cover bands. He also is the spokesperson for the entire “techno mafia” and you don’t want to mess with them because they are cold blooded killers. So get that straight, Sergio Santos and Pat Fontes and all your other “techno friends” actually hate you because Eric McLaughlin said so.

Nobody goes to Hearthrob or Basstown parties because all they do is trainwreck while using Ableton which is impossible but they manage to do it. When Eric McLaughlin makes a mixtape its 9 hours long and recorded live and is so perfect that if u look at the sound with a spectrograph it recreates the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel being painted.

Also, Hearthrob and Basstown have no talent at all. That fag Red Foxx and that nerd Etan both made remixes so shitty that they were played on BBC Radio 1 in London, unlike Eric McLaughlin, who’s productions are far too intelligent for something as trite as England’s most famous radio station. Not to mention their parties are always empty, and if people do go its for trivial things like to dance and have fun and laugh the night away. Eric McLaughlin knows that a party is really supposed to be a gathering where people critique the DJ on how well he rides a mix for 7 minutes, while paying homage and respect to the craft of DJing, much like the symphony.

Eric McLaughlin can also see and hear through the Internet. La Zen Bee simply TYPED, and Eric McLaughlin immediately knew La Zen Bee’s gender, that there were dicks in his mouth, and he had a hard time understanding because the dicks were muffling what La Zen Bee was saying, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS TYPED TEXT. Also, Eric McLaughlin also knows that French house is only for people who have dicks in their mouths.

Eric McLaughlin hates slackers. He would capitalize the letter at the beginning of every single sentence, however he was molested by a Shift key as a child and using it brings back painful memories. He loves DJ’s who wear “big boy pants.” He HATES DJ’s who wear little boy pants. If you wear big boy pants, you can get at him. Once you get at him, he will book you at one of his amazingly popular nights around the world, and you will have left the playground.

Eric McLaughlin knows hipsters are ruining music. Eric McLaughlin knows that Patrick Swayze is a hipster, and that’s why Eric McLaughlin gave him cancer.

Eric McLaughlin goes to every night to listen for trainwrecks. This is how he knows that the Hearthrob DJ’s trainwreck every time they play. Eric McLaughlin also has ears everywhere. He knows when Basstown tears up Pat Fontes and Boston Breaks behind their back.

Eric McLaughlin knows that Hearthrob has only 90 people attend it every other week. Eric McLaughlin has twice that, meaning 180 people, come to his night every week. This is a fire hazard because the Phoenix Landing only has a capacity of 125, but the fire department looks the other way because Eric McLaughlin is so famous.

Eric McLaughlin goes to Paper. He goes there along with 600 kids. Eric McLaughlin goes there to make sure that Basstown and Hearthrob don’t set foot in it, as they are jealous of it. Eric McLaughlin has seen people like them come and go. When you catch Eric McLaughlin at the Phoenix, he plays like he paid his dues and he gives hipsters the cold shoulder.

Because he knows he’s better. And him and his boys have staying power.

  89. i feel sad.

i certainly was not around during the early days of dance music, but i know enough to know that dance music was more than a just sound but also a culture. one that brought people together… all races, gay, straight, whatever. now we have cdj’s, ableton and fancy mixers, but the music still has a 4/4 time signature and will make you dance… lets not let the culture die too. in honesty boston does suffer in numbers, because middlesex may be packed … but getting axis/avalon packed would be hard (not shitty on you guys at min/hearthrob, you have the biggest crowds in boston). there are a lot of people into dance music in boston … but many only go to their friends shows, lets all try to pull together and go where the party is good. do you think people at the paradise garage gave a fuck if ron hardy fucked up a mix… lets not forget this music is supposed to be fun, and now lets have some fun guys/gals (cant forget the girl with the blue hair).

You should do some research and look up John Tejada. John Tejada does a all hardware live PA and every performance is different than the last…THAT is taking a performance to the next level. Doing Ableton live sets as recordings is fine to share with friends or whatever… the problem is when someone posts an Ableton mix as their promo mix.. THAT is false advertisement.

  100. This is so stupid. Pat Fontes, melee, all you has-beens, your time is over. Basstown is going to crush your souls and melt your mothers faces off, there is a reason we leave half of boston out of our gigs, its because we are beyond what you are doing at this point. We are the future, we are a movement, and we can not be stopped. DJs like Die Young joined our ranks because he feels the same as we at Basstown do, its time to move Boston forward, and washed up ex-record store owners, 30 year old breaks djs (who even listens to that shit anymore), and ex-ravers have already dug your own graves, its time to lie in it and let us fill in the hole.

    Comment by v.i.c.k.i. — March 6, 2008 @ 12:50 am

  101. “Riiiight and you prepared that the night before and when you got to the gig you hit the space bar”
Actually no you couldn’t be more wrong about that. Yea, we spend the week before a gig getting samples and tracks ready. We like to prepare a little bit. Are you trying to tell me you don’t get your record bag filled with what you think will be the right tracks for the night? Or do the right records some how just materialize on the decks the moment you think of them? Yeah, when you get down to it, you’re still just playing other people’s tracks. I’m against track-to-track mixing on Ableton just like everyone else, but to accuse someone like Etan, who’s using Ableton ON THE FLY to its full dynamic possibility every time he plays, of laziness is straight ignorant.
But then again, what would I expect from a bunch of 30+ year-olds who called their genre “prog house” back in the day (glad that worked out for you) and had all their stores close down because they clung on too hard to dead scenes. Nice American Pie joke too, Justin. That’s about as cutting edge as the style of party you guys put on. Do y’all wear Regis ties to your nights too?

    Comment by La Zen Bee — March 6, 2008 @ 4:40 am

  102. ableton is just another tool so y’all haters shouldn’t front if you haven’t tried it yourself, regardless of if it’s for a promo mix or live. props to basstown.

Christopher Wade, ive seen you once and you trainwrecked so fucking hard on ableton. Bad levels, fading tracks in and out, just a glorified mashup dj without even the skill to mashup properly, but you’re trendy so everyone loves you. I’m suprised schminimal did not catch this one. And i have tried ableton, bored and “djing” with it 15 mins later, i have to say im all set.

    Comment by justin — March 6, 2008 @ 9:25 am

  105. Understood homey. I am flattered that our hard work, time, energy and money that Pat and I have sacrificed for what we love is even acknowledged by the fake Vicki. In order to be washed up I suppose it requires that you were once of importance. Never saw it like that but fair enough. lol.

    Comment by Mr. Melee — March 6, 2008 @ 9:28 am

  106. Justin is totally right. Christopher Wade, a trendy DJ who makes mash ups, trainwrecks on Ableton all the time. Sure, some of you will argue that on Ableton everything is time stretched already and synched through MIDI and it is impossible to trainwreck, but Justin heard it with his ears and wrote it on the Internet and now Christopher Wade can never live down his fumble. Eric McLaughlin didn’t catch that one, and this surprises Justin.

Christopher Wade doesn’t wear big boy pants, he wears jeans and sometimes shorts. That’s why he can’t get at Eric McLaughlin, who is obsessed with boys pants and makes sure anyone that gets at him wears boys pants too, even if they are a grown man. Justin and Eric McLaughlin know that big boy pants protect you from trainwrecks. Justin and Eric McLaughlin wear them, because their ears are so refined that one beat going off time can infect them with AIDS, not to mention ruins the party for everyone.

Justin and Eric McLaughlin will give hipsters like Christopher Wade the cold shoulder at the Phoenix Landing. They play like they paid their dues. They know they are better, and him and his boys have staying power.

I put my heart into this music and couldn’t care less how trendy I may seem, so I’m willing to accept your criticism. I am also grateful for all of those people who have brought me in and mentored me since I’ve moved to Providence, and I’m also starting from the ground up again learning Serato. I’ve been making music since I was 13 so don’t get it twisted that I’m jumping on some kind of hot trend. I’m in this for life.

  111. I grew up in Boston and did the club thing back in the late 70’s and early 80’s. I met Larry Levan way before he was a DJ at the Garage. He was working at a club called Reade Street. I was a young club dancer and Larry had a thing for me. So When I would go to the club he would let me hang out in the booth with him. I had played around with mixing but nothing too serious. Then one nite Larry, Frankie [Knuckles] and myself were in the club and Larry (who would do just about any drug you gave him) had some angel dust and we smoked in the booth. A half hour later we were trippin’ our butts off. So now the club is packed with people and Larry being the clown he was said to me ‘Hey mix awhile!’ I was stunned. Here was one of the greatest DJ’s I know letting me play in his club. I laughed, Frankie laughed, but Larry was serious. So I played for 2 hours. But the funny thing was Larry thought I was good, and that was all I needed. I stopped dancing and devoted all my time to perfecting my mixing. I spent many years in the booths of both Larry and Frankie, and they taught me a lot. Then one day a couple of guys who were up to no good startin making trouble in my neighborhood. I got in one little fight and my mom got scared she said ‘You’re movin’ with your auntie and uncle in Bel Air’. I whistled for a cab and when it came near the license plate said fresh and it had dice in the mirror! If anything I can say this cab is rare, but I thought ‘Now forget it’ - ‘Yo homes to Bel Air’! I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8 and I yelled to the cabbie ‘Yo homes smell ya later’! I looked at my kingdom
I was finally there to sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel Air

  123. “If you can’t beat match you shouldn’t be playing dance music” maybe you should direct that shit to etan, emarce, and chris wade? And its funny that this does not mean anything and everyone is offended yet I single handedly shaped the min flyer as well as all the posts, it just shows how fragile egos are and how much people actually care, especially david day who thought he was being funny and trying to brush all of this off but obviously cares a good deal about whats said about him and his pathetic attempt at a decent night(what will the underage girls think of this?). I would have too much pride in my night to allow some stupid blog comment by someone who doesnt matter and doesnt even live in the same damned state to effect his entire night, and the look of it, just goes to show what a joke everything he touches is. NYC is the fucking place to be, where people are doing real shit and could care less about stupid blog posts like this one. And vicki its amazing that they pull your strings so hard they on a public forum you let them get away with saying stuff like “that better not be you”, thats some serious control you are under, they obviously picked the right puppet for the job. And redfox(ronald mcdonald) I do use the cueing channel, people probably dont notice though because i dont have to have all my friends in the booth at once cheering me on to look good and make me feel better about myself, i can actually stand alone, not in a croud of facepaint and trendy gear. When is the last time you filled a room bigger than 100 people? Oh thats right, you cant because hearthrob is a fucking joke, any other time you guys play outside of your little clubhouse you barely get enough people to put a dent in a room, no thanks boston, i’m good where i am.

    Comment by Red Foxx — March 7, 2008 @ 11:31 am

  144. i’ll be grinding you in the booth tonite red foxx @ jdj (cheap plug). i think the mix is cool and if you came to MIN shminimal they can rock a party. we all have are own ideas about whats good and whats not, but lets do it in a constructive way. i know you have to beatmatch to play edm, but sometimes people play on whack monitors or in my case get too high.(IMO track selection should be the main focus
i agree with vicki it has brought the boston edm community together. IF YOUR GOING TO TALK SHIT USE YOUR REAL NAME!

  145. Welcome to Boston DJ Highschool.

The nerds are mad becuase they are not popular.

While the popular kids realize this and revel in it.

David day is student body president and editor of the school newspaper.

Red Foxx is captain of the football team.

    Vicki is a cheerleader.

    Hearthrob is the cool table.

I’m an art fag I wear black, drink alot of coffee, reads Doetoevsky listen to everything 4ad and deals with things as they are.

  154. Speaking on my own behalf: You anonymous folks are all just jealous because you don’t have a publicist with nearly a decade of music industry experience. Go ahead and call me a cheerleader, pawn, or whatever. I have had full-time and freelance jobs for the past 7 years that have put me in a position to to try and run Basstown like a business. Considering I’ve been doing it for, ohh, five months, I think I’m doing a good job. I have been working hard and am proud of our efforts as a group of five friends who want to make something great of Basstown. I think there’s nothing but positive vibe to that. Even with nearly 10 years of doing this, I still know I have a long way to go, but I’m not going to get anywhere if I were to emulate your toxic attitude.

  157. So I was cruising the MD site and couldn’t help but notice the amount of posts in this thread so I decided to see what the fuss was all about. After reading most of the hate and listening to the posted mix ( Which BTW is not really a minimal or techno mix but its a nice listen)I kinda wanted to throw in a few cents. I live in Detroit and here track selection and flawless beat matching is of the utmost importance if your a dj. If you can not do both of the mentioned techniques really well then you will NOT get a gig in this city ( This pretty much covers the whole world unless your club and crowd have really low standards or don’t know a damn thing about house or techno). People who train wreck a mix obviously do not care about the art form of djing and would rather mash two records horribly than spend the little amount of time each day practicing and refining their skill.

    Comment by John S — March 8, 2008 @ 11:32 pm

  158. I noticed the track listing of the mix a couple of posts back had a Voodeux track which made me think…. Do you people even know who Voodeux is? Tanner Ross is a part of Voodeux which the track above ive heard Adam Beyer,Ryan Elliot, M.A.N.D.Y and alot of locals play in the D. Am I correct in saying that this guy lives in Boston? How come the mix representing Boston is not a Tanner Ross mix?

    1)The kid is on Dirtybird
    2)Remixed Jahcoozi
3)Was on the same release as Kevin Saunderson and Matthew Dear ( Legends ).. which Mr. Ross had the best remix BY FAR.
3)Has a release on Freerange ( The worlds finest Deep House label)which ive heard Carl Craig and Laurent Garnier ( Techno legends )play out.
4)Is on the same flyer as Switch, Sinden, Jesse Rose and Claude Vonstroke in Miami
5)Is one of the hottest up and coming producers in the USA if not the whole world.

Im not a stalker just a big fan :0). I can go on for a bit. Basically the guy is going to be prolific in about 6 years. Ya’ll asleep.

  163. Woah, late to the party… I’m not into minimal much but dug some of the songs in this mix, sent it to a friend who is into minimal and they really liked it.

Nightlife is all about variety and having choices, and I’m glad Boston has longtime veterans around still running nights, AND new younger “upstarts” running their own different nights. Neither is right or wrong or objectively better or worse, it’s just more options when trying to find good stuff to go to on any given night.

  181. RESPECT to all the people in boston holding down electronic music events and getting it out there to the masses. Definitely a lot of pure talent coming out of this city for sure, both behind the decks and in the studio. And don’t worry about haters like Shminimal, he’s probably just another jaded kid mad at the world that nobody ever booked him anywhere to dj, LOL.
