Hey..it’s not over, Paper Planes is the top tune in Grazia Magazine’s chart this week. They are so ahead of the game.

Lafonda sounds like some sketchy old Mexican restaurant, but the difference between her and them is I actually want what they serve.

Paper planes given an attempted RnB treatment. Thing is, what makes that song (and most of M.I.A.’s stuff) awesome is the raw quirkiness of it. Giving it a pop plastic RnB treatment doesn’t really appeal to me - especially when Lafonda doesn’t sound like her voice is powerful enough to pull of the polish necessary for pop RnB anyway.
So yes, gross. Bad genre match and the wrong singer to try it.
Still, if imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then re-adaption might be even more sincere praise.

Lafonda heralds the official day that music as we know it has become utterly meaningless. I give her 5 points tho for her legit Sears glamour shot circa 1996….At least now I know that Kidz Bop finally got someone to cover M.I.A.

I’m concerned for LaFonda’s left shoulder.
