$3 ppd part eight: scared of chaka
By DJA | October 27, 2008
scared of chaka were from Albuquerque NM and near the end of their career were pretty damn well known thanks to being signed to hopeless rec. imprint subcity. they played a phenomenal blend of garage and poppunk, but the “controlled” lofi sound of their records was what really drew me to them. something about these guys always made them seem like they were much older and cooler than all the other nerdy pop punk bands who were often lumped in with them. this 7″ is on empty records and has an amazing stripped down design for the sleeve

Am I the only person who likes that you guys are putting up punk 7″s? These are a good time.

Maybe I just want to believe that I’m the one guy that “gets it” and everybody else just doesn’t feel the need to talk about it.
