Events MD BLOCK PARTY NUMBER TWO

August 21, 2009 | 3:08 AM

We did it y’all! Another Mad Decent Blockparty went off without a single hitch. Let Aug.15th 2009 be known as an awesome day for dancing, smiling, hugging, ballpits, bounce-castles, food, dunktanks, friends, drinks, kids, daggering, DJ’s, rockbands and just plain old enjoying life… I’m happy to announce (with moderate hubris) that we got to hangout with about 1000 of our best friends from Philadelphia and beyond. No drama, no fights, no problems, ONLY fun…

With music spanning from blockparty classics, dancehall essentials, insane electro, relentless club music all the way down to some good old fashioned rock n’ roll, fun was definitely just the next act away and something was had for almost everyone.

With so many artists it’s still a little dizzying for me to try and tell you who played what or when. So here’s a little list of who you saw, heard and jumped around to…

Sammy Slice
Dirty South Joe
Nadastrom
DJ Tameil
Tim Dolla
Mike V
Yahmean
DJ Sega
Paul Devro
POPO
Bosco Delrey
Maluca
Toadally Krossed Out
Skerrit Bwoy
Major Lazer

Am I forgetting anyone?

Now I want to let some of the pictures speak for themselves, but before I go there’s some shout outs to make. We rolled from about 12-9pm and more people then I can ever thank helped out, but here are a few that stand out… Tony and everyone over at The Latest Dish providing mouth watering FREE food to about the first 500 of you, we’re talking amazing fried chicken, pulled pork sandwiches, pasta salad, coleslaw and cornbread!!! Thanks to Pepsi for all the support and bringing a ballpit! Awesome. Redbull, again, giving us unwavering support and copious amounts of extra ice (and of course redbull and RB cola). Fluffy for bringing the bounce castle all on his own accord AND holding down a dope afterparty. The ever amazing, ever sweaty, god amongst men, Sean Agnew for working it out in a dog costume all day! (don’t tell the kids!) Our three SUPER interns Brian, Sadiki and Don (you guys killed it bigtime)! Dirty South Joe deserves extra special mention for always being one of the most helpful people in the Mad Decent family, ALWAYS going above and beyond for the greater good of the group (we love you dog). Sean’s super salty security guy that hated us, whattup. Jon and Tom making sure our sound was focused… well pretty much. Of course all of our neighbors get a thank you for being supportive and allowing us to show so many people such an awesome time on our block. I KNOW I’m forgetting a million people, but there are SO many, so I’m sorry if I forgot you, but you’re the best! Oh and ANYONE and EVERYONE who helped pick up trash at the end of the day, it was greatly appreciated.

OK SORRY, ON TO MORE PHOTOS…
