Sorry New York and LA, but Chicago is officially our second home. The Block Party at The Hideout last week was really really mind blowing. The most amazing people came through and even though we had a blown generator and next to no music for an hour and a half, everyone stayed and the crowd actually kept growing. The power outage was almost a blessing in disguise- all the remaining acts got to go on later, we got to perform into the night and everyone got to party longer. The block party vibe started off early with "the world's best dancer" making everyone's jaw drop as he hackysack danced.

Also i never seen the line up the dunktank so long for people throwing and people wanting to get dunked

The spicy chicken burgers at the concession stand had me going back for more every couple hours. There were toilet paper blowers, and air cannons shooting pantys, confetti, and whatever else we could find to put in there.

Local hero Willy Joy started it off right and ended it off even better with his set after he djed for Kid Sis. Then I went on and played to almost no one, a bunch of weird new songs that i forgot to play later.

After that Ghetto Division came out and really got everyone going - Charlie Glitch, Mad Jazz, Rob Threezy and DJ Rampage played their own tunes which are really mad, be on the look out for new releases from the Ghetto Division label soon.

Stage was warmed up for PO PO who brought the crowd up close to the stage and stormed through a tight set of new stuff - look out for "About U Boy."

Freddie Gibbs was up next and it seemed like he brought a couple hundred fans with him. They were singing every lyrics and were locked on his every move. The party got so live the whole system blew in the middle of his set. We were down for a while, but like I said nobody left- thank you Chicago for being so amazing! Freddie picked up once the power came back and destroyed the crowd all over again.

Then Maluca came out poured beer on herself and vodka on the crowd and stage dove further back than anyone I've ever seen.

Bosco commanded the crowd and had dance circles popping up all throughout the block. Technical probs / MPC freezups be damned! He soldiered on a still put on a great show.

After Bosco came our longtime buddy Blaqstarr, who opened up with a grip of brand new material - singing it all live - then closed with all his classics that had the crowd going nuts.

The treat of the night for me was DJ Rashad and the Ghetto Tecknisians, the Footworkkingz. They came through and displayed what footworking is all about... FEEEET!!! I swear Jukin footwork has never been done on stage to that many people before, it's such a local thing, i'm glad we got to put that together. Thanks Neema!

Then Miss Chicago herself, Kid Sister hit the stage and busted it out. This is her city and it showed, it was definitley the part of the night when the crowd was the craziest. Not only was Kid Sister controlling the mic but Willy Joy, her dj, almost spat as much as she did. They had the crowd under their spell - when she dropped "Switch Board" all the footwork doods came out with MDBP shirts on and did an impromptu encore.

Willy joy took over the end the night with some amazing dance music along with dropping his new track that had everyone jumping.

So that's it for Chicagos, the afterparties had us up till sunrise before we departed for the airport back home. Thanks to: Sarah and everybody at Jelly, Sean Agnew & R5, Matt Goldman & MFG, Southstreet Seaport, everybody at the Hideout in Chicago - you rule, all the volunteers in every city - you make these things mean something!, all the performers, all our sponsors, all the food vendors, and most of all everybody who came out! Who would of thought that we just started planning these extended block party a few short months ago. Next year were making it bigger and better.
