MDBP 2010 NEW YORK from Mad Decent on Vimeo.
The Philly block party left us all with a great taste in our mouths, it was such a huge success and so much fun that if the other block parties didnt live up to Philly we would have been happy. But wow, New York came out on Saturday and tore it up at the first ever New York City Mad Decent Block (aka Dock) Party at the South Street Seaport.

I got to start off the party which was fun because I was like awesome loud speakers to play whatever I want on, so for the first 30 minutes i played the weirdest fastest african music i could find on my laptop, then i got into some of my favorite tunes which included the 3ball version of "Riverside" which i found out pretty quick is not really the best song to blast at 1pm while 5 year old kids are walking by, hahaha "Riverside Mutha####a" hahaha.
So after the my set Das Racist came out and in a matter of seconds they had everyone in block radius at the front of the stage and they ripped it.

At last check DJ Sega now has 3 legendary sets under his belt now this year so far, as he got to do a change over set between two bands.

Ninjasonik even jumped on his set and killed it for their hometown crowd.

I was interested to hear what Eli Escobar was gonna play since i've never heard him before but had only heard good things. He came out with a full out Old School NY Hip-hop set which spawned the now viral (2000-80000 views in one day) Granny breakdance video, so thank you Eli for creating that miracle with a fannypack.

I never heard of Janka Nabay before but i heard some stuff before the show and I was stoked, his music fit perfectly with the dock vibe we had going on. I'm grabbing all his tunes now as i type this.

I make sure I watch every Popo show i can because its one of the rawest live acts i've seen. No cd backing track no dancers just two brothers, a guitar and half of a drum kit. If you haven't had a chance yet go grab their mixtape we put up last week.

Bosco's live shows need to get recorded, he's the only person I know that uses no original tracks for his live show, it's all live triggered MPC madness with live guitar over it, he brought down the place. At one point they had to stop the show becuase there were too many people crowdsurfing, hahaha. The makings of a true rock n roll icon. i can't wait for his album to drop, I don't think anyones ready.

If you thought the lineup was packed, im sure your head would explode if you seen how many people Max Glazer brought through his set, i mean 77Klash, Jasmine Solano, Ricky Blaze, Mr. Lexx and Chelley all showed up and made the crowd go bananas.

What a hard act to follow but I know Maluca didnt sweat it, it's her home town and i never seen her nervous about bring the level higher with her show.

So she tore down the place, i went to throw some shirts out in the audience and ended up getting daggered by her outta no where.

So anyways thats just a write up on the acts, there was more than enough going on at the party besides the music that brought everyone together here's a few choice pics of what else went down on this crazy day...
