Deutsch and Indian Fast Discoz

Dorau Andreas & Die Marinas - Tulpen und Narzissen

Bappi Lahiri - Ramba Ho-Ho-Ho

I love these tracks, it’s dope the similarities between 80’s German New Wave and 80’s Hindi Disco. Both of these tracks boast over 140 bpm’s which is on some crazy speed disco tip. Check around the 2:45 mark for the Donna Summer Homage on Ramba Ho. And I know i have a hindi song that sounds exactly like Tulpen but i can’t find it right now. But damn, for the video they killed the tempo.

Three’s Company

3 is a Crowd - Can’t Breathe

3 is a Crowd sent me a bunch of their tracks last year and they became my favorites, their shit is just fun and ghetto just how i like it. The tracks were my secret babies until the power of blogdom found them. Either way here’s something new that they did. You should also expect alot more from them, actually go to their myspace they already have tons of material.

Mumdance & Jammer - Live In Austria

Some more heat from Mumdance and Crookers remixing the new Radioclit tune. Soon to be available on Mental Groove. Also got a hold of the Mumdance and Jammer live in Austria where according to Mumdance “After the gig me and jammer went to this club that was cut into a cave up a mountain, it was about 2000 capacity & there was this Baile DJ playing…. Jammer jumped up on stage and rewound the DJ’s record, then started scratching really badly! it was crazy, like the whole club went silent…..but somehow Jam managed to style it out and ended up MC’ing for a bit.” Word.

pitti

tonight my good friend Adriana Pittigliani passed away just a few block from where im working.. she had cancer for a few months that we found out was terminal and suddenly tonight she passed away. Adriana was a huge influence on me and the work i do in brazil, she was selfless and she spent the last couple of years managing sany pitbull and even recently Dj marlboro… she was the first person to take the artists outside of brazil to act as a tour manager for sany and sandrinho and created carioca funk clube to help artist finally publish their own music and to give these artist some autonomy, she worked in the documentary by helping us put together parties in prazere and in centro and connected some of us with the DJs and artists, i would not have met Sany Pitbull (a huge influence on me and the film) if it wasnt for Pitti… she also curated the last release on flaming hot that promoted these new kids in rio get exposure in the US. she also built a studio inside her APt here in flamengo to help these artists to stay up with music and push there sounds forward… i cant even believe she died and i cant tell u how important she was.. half the fotos that come from the bailes or from the characters in Rio were taken by Pitti or her photographers that she taught….. this city lost something it can never replace….

i didnt want to put any music in this post.. but this is a track by gilberto gil that pitti gave me a coupla of years back or her ipod and she told me it be cool to use it in a song one day, its in english and it never thought it meant anything til now

“I came when midnight was past….”
