Michna (Egg Foo Young) in Bmore this weekend
The Bmore-Electro crew have been putting on underground techno and electronic-music parties in Baltimore for over a year now. I’ve really appreciated their commitment to bringing down quality artists, braving a very fickle musical community and the daunting task of finding a reasonable venue that stays open for more than a few months. They seem to have finally made a home at the newly-collectivized Hexagon space, and this week they’re bringing Mad Decent homie Michna (aka Egg Foo Young) to celebrate his freshly-released record on Ghostly International. It’s cheap and BYOB - DC/NoVa/Bmore, get on this.

$3 ppd part seven: man is the bastard
i see you cullen! charred remains aka man is the bastard were from claremont, ca and existed between 91-97 (thanks wikipedia) - I never got to see these guys, but I bought several of their 7″s as they came out through mailorder and occaisionally through a local shop. They did splits constantly, and always had the same bizarre cover art, with just the names of the records being the main difference. check out these pics -

this mp3 is the entire side a of “throne of apprehension”, split with Agathocoles for pessimiser fanzine on theologian records

We landed in boston, got showers and did the Mad Decent workout at the Fitcorp and headed to the venue. The place was really nice, super low ceilings and there was a real life drunken Irish-Bostonian guy super wasted at like 4pm that i think worked there or something??? Anyways we heard stories about how no one in Boston dances and all this so i didnt no what to expect but it was crazy. Thank you Boston, check youtube theres a load of videos, i ‘ll got a interdimensionally diplo video that i’ll post up tomorrow.

MAD DECENT COAST 2 COAST EXTRAVANGAZ DAY 1 - NEW YORK CITY WEBSTER HALL

Hey it’s me, Pizzaboy the Dancing Pizza. Paul’s heading to Hawaii for a month so I’ll be filling in his role as the day-2day blogger. Paul, have fun you do such a great job around here you’re presence will be missed.
So anyways we started off tour yesterday at the Webster Music Hall in NY. It was Crazy!! Thank you New York…

this pic is us spying on these Russian dancers across in the other green room. They were all half naked and doing drugs, we were like school kids that just found the peep hole to the girls locker room.
Tonight were in Boston at a sold out Middle East. Hope you all got your tickets.

Diplo Makes People (and Pizza) Dance @ Webster Hall

Taken from the BlackBox Blog.
It’s usually not until the post-party wee hours that the munchies hit full force and a fourth meal becomes inevitable. But at the Mad Decent Tour’s line up show at Webster Hall last night, pizza was dancing through everyone’s minds — and dancing on the stage for that matter. A full slice of cheese with toppings showed off some fancy footwork for the crowd while Diplo, the mastermind behind some popular M.I.A. tracks, spun his eclectic mix of beats from rave-worthy electronica to hip-hop hits for an 18-and-over crowd. The energetic party kids did their best not to spill beer on their buddies while jamming out to Diplo’s erratic switch-ups, from upbeat mash-ups to slow early 90s reggae jams. The crowd couldn’t resist inching onto the stage to grind with the dancing pizza, and by the end of Diplo’s set, it was safe to say that everyone had an absolute slice.

N E WAYS, PETE TONG, MASSIVE RESPECT FOR PUMPING OUR TUNES! EVERYONE CHECK OUT HIS COOL VIMEO PAGE (this episode featuring Diplo’s blow your head) AND GO SEE THAT MAN ON TOUR! (And us too!)

OPPORTUNITIES ARE AVAILABLE

Apparently Diplo and 8 Bit are still working on their Australian tour recap posts. Hopefully this wonderful gem will tide you over until then.
Even though this was written about our motherland in the 70’s I can assure you that every promise made in this song is still valid. In 2008, no one hesitates at life or beats around the bush in Australia.
Earlier this year I had the privilege of driving from Sydney to Byron Bay with Australian heroes Jimmy Sing, Hana Shimada and Spruce Lee. Jimmy put this song on when we went over the Harbour Bridge and when we entered the historic and bakery ridden town of Bulahdelah. Magic.

$3 ppd part six: i farm
i farm were formed in ithaca, but are apparantly now based in brooklyn. these guys always had the ‘melodic vocal / screamy grindcore vocal’ thing down waaaaaay before somewhat of the same concept became the sound of hot topics everywhere in the 2000+
these tracks were taken from a split with o:cc and a split with a band called thirsty; on traffic violation and crap records respectively

I Farm - Molly McButter vs Mrs Dash
