This is Chow. He's this Malaysian/Chinese guy that Bob Marley met in london in 1975 and made him move to Kingston and build Tuff Gong from the ground up as his main engineer. Now he lives in the back of the studio in a crazy room full of tools... He plays a lot of showtunes that he learns to play on YouTube in the live room while I'm mixing…I usually don't mind but today I decided to interview him 'cause he wouldnt stop playing The Godfather theme. Last week he fixed my genelec speakers and showed me his testing oscillator. He just runs around Tuff Gong with a screwdriver and looks like a mad scientist from Big Trouble in Little China but with a Jamaican patois. He told me once that everyone he works for is dead since he moved to Jamaica. I guess it sounded pretty sad. You can tell its a different vibe here at Tuff Gong from when the Wailers used to run this place.
Also, here is a picture of Lykke Li playing harpsichord in Bob marley's chair.

Yep, and Wednesday we rocked a party at Fiction here in Kingston.. it was MADDDD. Elefant Man, Aidonia, Leftside, Spice, Cecile and a host of others came and got down…good party. The biggest track was either "Pon the Floor" or an Elephant Man Owl City" dubplate! ?!?
You can read more about the party here at The FADER.
And here's some shots...
